Autoclub Speedway Crossover May 2015

NASA Socal and Arizona combined forces on the weekend of June 15 and 16 for a crossover event at Autoclub Speedway in Fontana, CA. Formerly known as “Cal Speedway”, the track was built in 1995 at a cost of $100 million dollars and features numerous track layouts, drag strip and paddock areas.

In case you ever want to know what it takes to build a race track the operators list nearly all the track specifications on their website: http://www.autoclubspeedway.com/About-Us/Track-Facts.aspx. It’s a lot of material! Your author wasn’t able to attend this event so this recap is a quick one and a reminder about our next local event coming up back at Wild Horse Pass on June 6th early in the morning.

Results are administered by NASA Socal and I am posting links to the results per class below.

– Socal has posted official results for all the groups here: http://timingscoring.drivenasa.com/NASA_California-Southern_Region/2015%20-%20Official%20Results/May%202015%20-%20AAA%20Speedway%20Final%20Results/

Coming up very soon is our last pre-summer driving event back at Wildhorse Pass West track on June 6th. This is a cool early morning event that will be done about noon and is a perfect opportunity for new drivers to come and try out HPDE1 or make a shot at moving up to other HPDE levels and for all drivers to do test and tune before the big summer break (unless you are going to Nationals).
