UMS Time Attack
Time Attack (TA)
The TA series was formed locally and has no national support from NASA, and no national rule book or guidelines. NASA AZ and UMS Tuning have partnered to create this series All rules, format, driver classing and administration were formed by NASA AZ members. The TA series mimics the time attack events like Global Time Attack (GTA). TA drivers pay $20-25 in additional to their regular registration fees to enter the competition.
TA Drivers are given 1 warm up lap, 2 hot laps, and 1 cool down lap. The objective is to the the one fastest hot lap in your respective group. Drivers are grouped into heat and released in intervals to give equal opportunity for quick laps.
The classing for TA is simple: power to weight. There are three main classes, each with a range of power to weight limits. The purpose of this is to allow new entrants easily and not have the worry of classing cars using a complex set of rules. The TA series is more “loose”, and meant to be fun, although some take it rather seriously! You can see the full set of rules below.
TA drivers can also win fun prizes and bragging rights! This series is open to drivers in HPDE3, HPDE4, and Time Trial.
